Saundra Davis is a financial planner and management consultant with fifteen years experience in grant writing and ten years providing capacity building and technical assistance to non-profit and local government agencies.
After completing a B.S. in Management at Golden Gate University (GGU) in 1996 Saundra founded the Management & Business Assistance Center and for five years managed the Ryan White Title I Planning Council, a 30-member community planning body that prioritizes and allocates AIDS funding for Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. During this time she also provided technical assistance to agencies as part of the Cal-WORKS program. Saundra has served on the Board of Directors of California Community Dispute Services (San Francisco, East Bay), and Housing Rights Inc. (East Bay), and also conducts workshops and retreats for local government agencies to increase their responsiveness to the non-profit community.
In 2004, Saundra expanded her mission to include holistic, comprehensive personal financial planning services for individuals and small business owners. During a two year academic program Saundra worked for a San Francisco based financial planning firm, completed the Financial Planning Association (FPA) Residency Program, and received the Financial Women’s Association scholarship awarded to candidates who demonstrate leadership skills, academic honors and communication skills. Saundra completed a Master’s Degree in Financial Planning in April 2005 and received the Financial Planning Student of the Year Award. Saundra is currently the FPA San Francisco Chapter Pro Bono Committee Coordinator and a volunteer for community based organizations that focus on asset building for the working poor.
Saundra is an adjunct professor in the Golden Gate University Financial Planning program and has recently received a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) Board of Directors grant award to provide financial planning for community based organization staff and constituencies.
